Viewing the Yacht from across the basin, you are tantalized by her classic lines, and beautiful flag blue hull. Such a classic yacht immediately beckons you to come aboard. Entering the cockpit you notice the teak decks, and the amount of open space that invites you for cocktails at sunset. The extended boat deck hard top provides protection from rain and sun in the cockpit. As you walk around the outside of the Yacht you notice the details: no window frames, built-in bow seating, high bulworks which provide safe walkways around the yacht. At the bow is an anchor windlass which controls two anchors with 150 feet of chain on the Danforth, and 300 feet of chain on the Bruce. There are port and starboard power cords, fresh and salt water hose bibs. TV and phone cable connections and the shore water pressure regulator are all located in the bow storage cabinets. Returning to the cockpit, you enter into the salon which is wide open and you can see from bow to stern. The beautiful teak interior, with splashes of color, soothes you into dreams of cruising for weeks or months on end. In the salon aft corner is the entrance to the crew quarters and the engine room. Looking forward and to port are two reclining chairs, a 50″ Samsung flat screen TV and the bar area. Scanning to starboard and forward you notice a settee with a folding table for enjoying your favorite beverage, or working on the computer, and looking aft you see a beautiful U-shaped settee and coffee table.

On the forward port side of the salon are the steps into the pilothouse and galley. There is an excellent galley set up with state of the art refrigeration and appliances, and a helm station that is designed like a piece of art, with a very comfortable dinette.

Heading down the curved stairway to the staterooms, your attention is focused on the quality of the wood, recessed hand rails, and the finish of the teak. Forward is the VIP stateroom with a queen size bed, in-suite head and shower.

Moving aft and to port is the guest stateroom, with an in-suite head and separate shower. Again the fit and finish is a work of art.

Exiting the guest stateroom and moving aft you enter the master stateroom. The stateroom is full width. The king size bed is for and aft on center line, and there are twin heads with a central shower, rows of drawers and many closets. It is such a large warm area it is hard to believe that this boat is only 70’ feet in length.
Flybridge
As you head up to the flybridge, either from the pilot house or by the cockpit stairway aft, you realize the size of this boat. Again, another area invites you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the moment. There is seating for up to seven people, a refrigerator, icemaker, sink, and a grill, plus lots of storage.

Salon
When entering the salon from the cockpit your attention is captured by the vast amount of space in this area. As you look forward and to starboard, you notice a very comfortable settee and coffee table, and to port a 50-inch Samsung TV with new hydraulic lift upgrade, and the Bose home theater system with surround sound, neatly fitted between two comfortable chairs. Also to port is the granite wet bar, with a wine cooler, refrigerator, glass and liquor storage, new wine cooler Silhouette Select brand, and a sink. Just to starboard of the bar is a settee that looks aft and has a fold up table that functions as an office or a bar top. Above the settee and forward are a set of custom cabinets for your finest china and stem ware.
Galley
Up three steps from the salon is the galley, which is a state of the art gourmet kitchen. The very large granite countertop provides more space than will ever be needed to serve that special dinner. Custom solid wood cabinets and dovetailed drawers, both completely finished inside with Formica, provide large amounts of storage in the galley. For convenience and safety, just to port of the galley, is the stair up to the flybridge, the port pilothouse door, and the electrical panels located in the aft section of the pilothouse settee.

Pilothouse
The pilothouse and the galley are the heart of this boat. To port is a comfortable dinette with seating for up to five people. Forward is the helm station and to starboard is the stair down to the staterooms and the starboard pilothouse door. Underneath the helm station is a large area finished in Formica. There is enough room to allow the electronics technician easy access for installing equipment and making repairs if necessary. Both the 120 volt and 240 volt AC electrical system, 12 and 24 volt DC panels, the navigation and the commnications systems are located in this area. Above the helm station from port to starboard is the status panel for all systems. Starting on the port side of the panel are the 12 and 24 volt navigation and electronic circuit breakers, the tank tender, fire buoy system indicator, inverter controls, stabilizer controls, emergency panel warning lights, and all the pump and navigation lights switches.

Companionway
Moving forward and down from the pilothouse is the companionway to the three staterooms, which all have en-suite heads and showers. The maple woods with teak accent highlights makes these areas bright and airy.
VIP Stateroom
The VIP stateroom, located in the bow of the boat, has a Queen size island bed and cedar-lined hanging closets on both sides. Under the bed are six drawers that are finished with twelve coats of varnish and lined with Formica. Also under the bed are two Cablemasters for the forward power cords. The chain locker also resides in this area, as does the bow thruster. The en-suite head with separate stall shower is made of the finest materials, Grohe fixtures and granite sink tops, and a VacuFlush toilet.
15” Flat Panel TV
DVD Player

Guest Stateroom
The guest stateroom has upper and lower twin sized beds, and en-suite head with a separate shower. The 15-inch flat screen TV with built-in DVD player provides entertainment for your guests. A neat cedar-lined closet has room for hanging clothes and under the lower bed are drawers that provide more storage.

Master Stateroom
Two steps down and aft is the spacious master stateroom. The maple woods with teak accents makes this area feel much larger than its actual size. This is accomplished by the use of composite structure everywhere in the cabinets, closets, heads and the hull. Composites are thinner and stronger, i.e. take up less space. This stateroom is wow, huge, warm and comfortable. The king size bed is fore and aft on center line, cedar-lined closets and drawers are to starboard. Forward and to starboard a cabinet encloses the Bosch washer and dryer, and to port is a flat screen 26-inch TV and a DVD Player. On the port side is a settee with storage underneath, book shelves, and two cedar- lined closets. The heads are aft of the bed, one to port, the other to starboard with a central shower.
Engine Room and Crew Quarters
There are two entries to these areas. The salon entry is very easy to use; it allows you to access the engine room without going outside, a real safety feature when you are cruising in heavy weather. On nice days and to help in loading items into storage, there is a large aft hatch in the cockpit.

Engine Room
Entry to the engine room is from the crew quarters. The watertight door has a window that allows you to check the engine room before opening the door. Upon entering the engine room you immediately notice the head room of more than 6 feet. This is a white engine room, and it is spotless. Every piece of equipment is like new. The twin engines are soft mounted to reduce vibration, and coupled with the Aqua Drive system to reduce vibration. The sea chest forward and between the engines provides sea water for every piece of equipment that uses sea water.

He was delivered in 2008, with a refit in 2014. Built with the utmost attention to detail for which the builder is renowned and meticulously maintained by an experienced owner and her professional crew, she is offered for sale in spotless condition.

He sleeps eight owners and guests in four ensuite staterooms. The double berth captain’s cabin is aft of the pilot house, and the crew cabin is aft of the engine room.

The yacht’s interior was originally designed by Dee Robinson Interiors, and features elegant American cherry woodwork with panels in eye catching book matched mahogany crotch, black absolute granite, custom color matched interior Dutch doors and window frames, and intricate stainless steel. In 2011 she received a $2 million reconfiguration with a fly bridge extension. The new arrangement included the interior sky lounge staircase being removed and an exterior aft staircase being added. The owner also added a waste treatment system and many redundant systems throughout.

Carefully cared for and under the direction of Destry Darr Designs, she was redecorated and refreshed in August 2014. This includes new carpet, new dining room chairs, new window treatments, all salon furniture recovered, new bed throws, new decorative pillows, new exterior chair cushions, new fly bridge sun pad cushions, new lampshades, refinished coffee tables and dining room table, recovered pilot house Stidd seat and back cushions and recovered sky lounge furnishings.

He has recently completed an extensive maintenance program which included the painting of the entire deckhouse and superstructure, servicing of the main engines, generators, air conditioning system and much more.

He represents a unique opportunity to own a spectacular yacht in perfect condition. She was designed and built to handle all oceans of the world from the tropics to high latitudes in comfort, style and safety. Her sumptuous interior and high volume offers the greatest luxury, and seems far more spacious than her overall length of 86’ would lead you to expect. She was built to ABS Class requirements, and has been maintained in class. She is commercially compliant, and can be offered for charter. Both rugged and refined, she must be inspected to fully appreciate all she has to offer. She will be the first choice for anyone looking for a model, easily maintained, and comprehensively equipped adventure yacht.

SALOON

Aft in the main deck superstructure, the main saloon has an appealing symmetry. Matching pair of blue-gray chenille upholstered settees are to port and starboard beneath the large windows. These face matching pen shell coffee tables, each flanked by matching taupe, geometric patterned upholstered arm chairs. This very convivial conversation space can seat ten people very comfortably.

A low cabinet forward conceals a flat panel television which rises at the touch of a button. This cabinet, with the service columns to each side, visually separates the saloon from the dining room. Below the nylon taupe carpet is a finished floor of teak and holly.

DINING

The dining table, set athwart ships at the yacht’s centerline, seats eight in new upholstered chairs and two carvers. A handsome butler’s counter is forward to port with custom cabinetry for all chinaware, two fridge drawers beneath a black absolute granite top, Icemaker, sink, wine cooler and a lighted crystal display cabinet above.

The galley, described in greater detail below, is forward to port. A very handsome half spiral staircase leads up to the pilothouse, and a day head is to starboard.

MASTER STATEROOM

Further forward and just a couple of steps down, the Master Stateroom spans the full beam of the yacht. A centerline king sized berth is against the aft bulkhead of this spectacular room. A television rises from the cabinet forward which is flanked by the doors to His and Hers bathrooms finished in white flecked marble, mahogany joinery work, and large stall showers (hers also being a steam shower), three closets, writing desk, built in book shelves and skylights.

CREW ACCOMMODATIONS

Captain’s Cabin:

Conveniently positioned just aft of the pilot house. A double berth is set outboard to port with a desk forward, and an ensuite bathroom with stall shower to starboard.

Crew Cabin:

Accessed via a staircase from the portside of the aft deck, the crew cabin is on the starboard side just aft of the engine room. The cabin has upper and lower single berths and an ensuite bathroom with stall shower.

Laundry:

Opposite the crew cabin with one new Electrolux washing machine and two Maytag Neptune dryers.

PILOTHOUSE

As expected, the pilothouse offers a commanding view, with all instruments properly laid out and described in greater detail below.

A raised C-shaped settee, aft on the centerline, faces a drop leaf table. A door to port leads to the captain’s cabin with double berth and ensuite bathroom. To starboard a corridor leads aft to the sky lounge passing fridge, Icemaker, sink and a lighted crystal display cabinet above.

SKY LOUNGE

Unlike her subsequent sisters and following its reconfiguration in 2011 VIVIERAE does not have a staircase to the fly bridge in this room. It consequently feels (and is) much more spacious with a charcoal chenille L-shaped settee to port providing a great spot to enjoy the scenery or watch a movie. A low cabinet aft conceals a flat panel television which rises at the touch of a button.

Within the cabinetry is custom wine storage, and a finished teak and holly floor is beneath the 100% wool carpet A foldable treadmill and selection of dumbbells quickly turns this area into a mini-gym.

GALLEY

On the main deck, forward and to port of the dining saloon, the galley has access to the port side deck in the conventional way. Finished in American cherry with grey granite counters and backsplash, this galley has everything a chef could want. Equipment includes:

Sub-Zero freezer and freezer

Sub-Zero refrigerator and refrigerator drawers

Bosch Dishwasher

Dacor Microwave oven (new)

Wolf Oven

Wolf Stove top (new)

Stainless steel sink with disposal

Breville Toaster

Monogram trash compactor

DECK & HULL

He is an “aft house” trawler with the superstructure set well back on the hull to provide the most comfortable ride in a pitching sea. This configuration provides ample space for large tenders in the well deck aft of the high bow, and forward of the Portuguese bridge.

There are side decks on both sides of the main deck and on the pilothouse deck, and a generous aft deck-cockpit with access to the integral swim platform. A straight bench settee with Sunbrella cushions across the transom facing a convertible dining table and four teak deck chairs for al fresco dining. All tables and chairs are quick release to make room for the Stidd fighting chair whilst game fishing.

Aft of the sky lounge the deck is sheltered by the overhang from the flybridge above. This overhang is a custom construction that is not shared by other Nordhavn 86’s. A stairway comes up from the cockpit below on the port side, and a similar and custom stairway on the starboard side leads up the flybridge.

FLYBRIDGE

This is very much an “owner & guest” area, since there is no command station. A hardtop stretches from the ventilation stacks forward shading the area, and there are tracks and removable Isinglass screens to enclose the space when the weather warrants. A C-shaped settee and table is forward to port. A large and useful barbeque grill, drinks fridge and 52” television finish the deck off for any type of entertaining.

Aft, only partially covered by the hard top, is a Jacuzzi with the panoramic view surrounded with a sumptuous new sunpad.

UNDERWATER CONFIGURATION

He has a bulbous bow for optimal fuel efficiency (the bow thruster is contained in this bulb), a full keel ending a few meters short of the stern, twin skegs enclosing the shafts with the rudders supported aft leaving the propellers protected within apertures, and a swim platform aft which is integral to the hull, and contains an inverted broad U-shaped tunnel with the stern thruster.

Stabilizers are just aft of amidships each side, and are fitted with kelp cutters.

The superstructure is in Alexseal Snow White, painted in August 2014.

ELECTRICAL

The AC electrical system is three phase 120/208 volt distribution with a maximum capacity of 60kW provided by two Northern Light generators (40kW and 25kW) which can be synched together (splitting the buss bars as oppose to paralleling), or through a 100 amp shore power connection (fed by a Glendenning Cable Master) through an Atlas shore power converter, allowing the yacht to be powered in any country in the world. The Atlas Shore Power Convertor has seamless transfer capability allowing the yacht to be unaffected when switching between power supplies.

The DC electrical systems is 24 volts with a capacity of 765 amp hours provided by six 8D Lifeline batteries connected in series/parallel charged by an Outback inverter/charger at 70 amps.

CONSTRUCTION

He is built in fiberglass to very heavy scantlings from female molds using an outer layer of gelcoat (although all finish surfaces are subsequently painted in Alexseal) and 2mm of Coremat to prevent “print through” before the first series of lamination of woven roving is applied. Vinylester resin is used in the first three layers below the waterline, and the entire underwater structure is coasted in five coats of epoxy resin before antifouling paint is applied.

Built to ABS Class requirements and has been maintained in class.

Longitudinal stringers (10 each side) are used full length for added rigidity, and there are five watertight bulkheads.

The superstructure cabin sides incorporate Klegecell foam coring, and all deck structures use Baltec vertical end grain balsa coring to keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Further, 30,000 lbs. of lead ballast is built into the keel structure, and an additional 4,000 lbs. is used in trim.

Fuel storage tanks and water tanks are also built in fiberglass with inspection hatches and removable baffles for full access if needed.

Teak decking, glued, not screwed, sheaths the main deck, the pilothouse deck, and the flybridge.

All machinery spaces are lined with Soundown lead foam insulation and 3M Thinsulate to prevent noise propagation.

Nordhavn 76 (2009) for sale

With popularity of the “northwest trawler”-style boat on the rise, PAE set out to create a new, big modern passagemaker that fused this salty look with the advanced systems of the latest Nordhavns. The result was the Nordhavn 76: developed for those yachtsmen who want an aft pilothouse boat which carries its shore boats on the foredeck. Like our venerable Nordhavn 62, the pilothouse of the N76 is set aft, carries its crane forward and can launch its shore boats off either the port or starboard side. Based on the hull form and specifications of the N72, the simple goal of this new model was to create a small superyacht which was true to the rugged ocean going heritage of other Nordhavns while at the same time stunning in her elegance, fit and finish, systems and engineering.

This Nordhavn is located in Fort Lauderdale, contact us at 514-521-1221 for all details.

SalonThe main entryway for this yacht is through a generously wide, hinged aft-deck doorway. You will enter the warm light of the finely detailed Anigre woodwork complemented by a teak sole with maple inlay, and tongue-in-groove accents overhead. Anigre is a non-threatened species of tropical hardwood from Africa, finely grained and evenly toned.Reminiscent of a traditional gentleman’s library with expanses of wood and moldings, there is room for volumes of books alongside a 36” flat screen TV on the portside forward. A pair of armchairs along with a sumptuous canvas-covered sofa beneath the huge portside windows creates a comfortable entertainment area. Opposite, on the starboard side, a custom designed teak & wenge dining table is placed to take in the wide views surrounding. A wet bar created from a finely-hatched black granite countertop is within easy reach, accented with a antiqued, bevelled mirror backsplash. A two-drawer SubZero below the counter provides refrigeration or freezer space and cabinets for crystal storage are located above. Overhead and bulkhead panels throughout the yacht are readily removed to access wiring and plumbing raceways, with the touch of a magnet.

GalleyForward of the main living area in the salon is a “Grand Galley”, which will please the most discerning Chef. The focal point is the span of black granite countertop with its raised lip specially routed to eliminate seams, providing a huge work area. A five-burner Wolf stove top takes center stage on the island, with a commercial-wide, single oven beneath. The downdraft system extractor fan is cleverly concealed in the countertop, smoothly rising to handle its task whenever needed. The trash compactor is housed to the left of the oven, with an icemaker to the right. A trio of white leather and chrome retro bar stools are anchored on the opposite side of the stove away from the working area. Additional seating is found under the starboard side bank of large, double-paned, solar-tinted windows, in the form of a raised banquette, easily seating six. Every inch of space available for storage has been utilized and the banquette area is no exception. A flat screen TV is fitted into the bulkhead aft of the banquette and another screen is located near the forward companionway. The working area of the galley is open and very well laid out. A large brushed stainless SubZero refrigerator/freezer and another two-drawer SubZero fridge/freezer unit are located just inside the salon entryway. Black granite counters run outboard under expansive windows, terminating at floor to ceiling storage next to the companionway and punctuated with a convection-microwave and a second flat-screen TV. A pair of extra-deep, double stainless steel sinks in the center of the countertop allow the cook to keep an eye on the passing scenery. A two-drawer Fisher & Paykel under-counter dishwasher and another two-drawer SubZero fridge/freezer unit is next to the full-size SubZero refrigerator on the aft bulkhead. Just forward of the banquette on the starboard side a compound-curved, highly polished stainless steel handrail frames the teak & maple steps sweeping up to the wheelhouse. Each step has a maple tread for both visual appeal and safety. As we continue forward towards the on-deck master stateroom, we pass the main breaker panel on the left of the companionway and a staircase leading down to the guest accommodations on the starboard side. To port, we find an unparalleled pantry area. Each of the large double doors access deep pantry shelving, with automatic lighting activated whenever one of the doors is opened. Portside is a roomy day head with fine Carrera marble countertops and wall coverings of flax colored linen. Outboard is a watertight door to the portside deck.

PilothouseThe pilothouse is easily reached from the galley stairway, opening up into a bright and airy expanse of warm Anigre furnishings, teak and holly floors and large windows. One of the best seats aboard can be had upon the cozy raised settee, tucked into the portside corner. With a low table in front and large windows behind, it provides comfortable seating with magnificent 360º views and faces a 36” flat screen TV. This television has been built into the aft-side of the L-shaped bench that runs athwart ship allowing an uninterrupted view forward while providing additional seating for guests wishing to watch the action on the bridge. A pair of teak cocktail tables have been placed in front of the bench seat. Between these two seating areas, a traditional desk is built in under the portside windows with copious files, drawers and bookshelves A full-size chart table with numerous drawers is located forward, next to the wrap-around command console. Charts may be stored flat within its wide drawers, with additional storage cupboards alongside. The helm console has five full-size monitors, state-of-the-art navigation and security system electronics and two white leather Stidd chairs. A Cassens & Plath compass is mounted overhead. The visibility from the console is nothing short of remarkable.

Fly BridgeThe flybridge is reached via eight natural teak steps located outside the starboard pilothouse door. A sturdy stainless steel handrail outboard, polished to a mirror finish provides an attractive accent. Under the hardtop accommodating the satellite domes and communication equipment, three sparkling white Stidd chairs have been placed at the console. Two full-size monitors and several banks of repeaters provide navigation information. The visibility from the console to the foredeck and over the bow is unparalleled.Behind the console, a roomy, wrap-around settee and teak table provide seating for ‘backseat drivers’ wishing to enjoy the view, with storage underneath. Further aft there is room for several chaise lounges for those wishing to soak up the sun’s rays.

Master StateroomThe forward-most entryway from the galley, opens into a spacious, full-width Master stateroom, warm with the glow of Anigre paneling and overhead beams, linen wall coverings and teak & holly soles. Immediately to starboard is a settee next to a built-in dresser. Opposite, under the portside window is a roomy desk/computer station with concealed, flip-up makeup mirror. A king-sized bed with storage beneath faces a 46′ flat screen TV and entertainment center. The aft bulkhead in the Master is a wall-to-wall cedar-lined hanging closet. The Master head resembles a luxurious spa with wide expanses of smooth, hand-picked Carrera marble. The countertops and shower panels are solid Carrera, and the flooring is a beautiful mosaic created from the same cut. The head cabinet has some of the most striking, deep-veined marble of the lot. The large walk-in shower stall is outfitted with dual shower heads, etched glass door and panels, with recessed ceiling lights. All fixtures are brushed nickel. Panels of linen cupboards are located outboard portside, and a deep cedar-lined closet to accommodate linens and hanging items form the aft bulkhead. A Carrera countertop runs the full length starboard, with a handsome sink carved into the singular length of marble. Panels of laser-cut mirror over the countertop conceal storage behind, with integrated lighting between each cupboard. Air conditioning vents fabricated from Anigre frame the top edge of the mirrors, eliminating fog-up during showers.

Guest AccomodationsGuest and crew accommodations are reached by a spiral staircase from the main deck foyer and is punctuated with a vaulted display nook in the sweep of the hallway. A sculpted Anigre handrail with light wenge detail provides interest along the stairs. A stacking SpeedQueen washer and dryer are discretely located in a closet located at the bottom of the staircase, and a fire system is housed in a cabinet opposite. The corridor on this hushed lower level is reminiscent of an elegant hotel with plush carpeting, alabaster light sconces with warm Anigre wood paneling and molding. Interior metal surfaces have been coated with 2” of polyurethane foam for excellent thermal insulating qualities, condensation reduction and corrosion prevention. Overhead panels, carpet pads and other areas have been insulated with Soundown, and raceways are easily accessed. Immediately forward is a roomy VIP cabin with raised queen sized V-berth. Not an inch has been wasted with numerous bookshelves, deep cupboards outboard and a cedar lined hanging closet. The ensuite head features handsome, earthy, mocha colored marble countertop and shower, with Anigre and linen upholstered bulkheads. The portside cabin contains two lower single berths and the starboard cabin has a queen sized bed. Each cabin has their own ensuite head similar to that of the VIP suit with the warm, earthy-toned marble counters and shower. All cabins have cedar-lined hanging closets and storage areas.

Engine RoomThe engine room entry is aft of the accommodation area on the lower deck, separated from crew and guest cabins by a watertight bulkhead. With exceptional headroom, superb lighting and ventilation, this engine room provides good working and storage space with two workbenches built above the battery compartments. There is good elbow room surrounding the generators, water maker and a/c units making everything readily accessible and easy to work on.Dual main engines deliver superior maneuverability working in conjunction with the bow and stern thrusters. The hydraulic system is located in a separate lazarette, aft of the engine compartment, where you’ll also find the emergency ladder to the aft deck.Insulated with 4” of Soundown, any engine room noise is unlikely to be noticed elsewhere aboard.
